UNIFY Solutions has released Identity Broker for IBM's Tivoli Access Manager to provide tightly coupled integration and interaction between Tivoli Access Manager and any supported Identity Management Platform for the synchronization of identity information across the enterprise. It allows organisations with non IBM identity management platforms to easily select and integrate Tivoli Access Manager. This Identity Broker is built from the ground up to use a combination of LDAP for speed of reconciliation, and the Tivoli Access Manager APIs for compliance with the business rules built into the Tivoli Access Manager product. This combination allows for integration in very large enterprises while maintaining the flexibility that is also present within the Tivoli Access Manager product for customization. Architecturally the products can co-exist in a single network, or deployed securely across several domains, or even the internet.

Brisbane Catholic Education has successfully implemented the foundation phase of its Identity Management Project, allowing for data synchronisation between Talent2 HRIS, Microsoft Active Directory and MXL eMinerva using Microsoft Identity Lifecycle Manager 2007 as its identity engine. Utilising UNIFY’s Identity Broker and Event Broker products, BCE is now able to realise the benefits of automatic provisioning, management and termination of teachers and staff in Active Directory and their school management system (eMinerva). Using the Talent2 HR system as the authoritative source for all Identity information, the solution also manages Active Directory security group membership based on HR data. UNIFY Solutions today announced that it has been awarded a contract by the SACE Board of South Australia to provide its Password Reset Manager to enable users to reset their password, with a series of challenge response questions to verify their identity. Password Reset Manager will also reset system lock-outs, as a result of a user entering an incorrect password multiple times. It is expected that this solution will provide a 24x7 service to all users, and strengthen existing identity management processes at the Board. UNIFY was selected following the evaluation of an RFQ for the solution issued in September 2008. The SACE Board of South Australia serves Year 11 and 12 students in all schools, and administers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). The SACE is an internationally recognised qualification.
